A brief history, and some of what you need to know about BODII philosophy.
A series of five (5), thought provoking Professional Development program modules, containing strength & fitness concepts and techniques to be considered by Fitness Professionals of all persuasions. Each of the four practical BODII modules are designed to challenge conventional strength & fitness principles, and consequently advance discussion and improved appreciation for the ever-expanding boundaries of modern functional training possibilities. While the fifth is designed to maximise outcomes, by exploring the all-important training & nutritional "one percenters", using simplified and uncomplicated science-based explanations.
Programs, which amongst many other training issues, address, help explain, and work to minimise many of today's most confounding and troublesome sporting injury dilemmas. Such concerns as on-going hamstring injuries and the innocuous ACL rupture. Objectives achieved by employing innovative BODII neuromuscular and proprioceptive adaptation methods.
From the outset, it should be known that BODII is an entirely independent strength & fitness system, conceived and developed in Melbourne over a period of more than six years (2009-2015). As a result, a "google" search will provide no additional answers. It is an alternative approach, developed for athletes of all ages and abilities. It caters to the needs of those who are serious about competition and sports, and also those who, regardless of their perceived abilities and ambitions, are determined to take their strength & fitness training to new heights. All this with total regard for all aspects of posture, and inclusion of the core.
BODII confronts physical and psychological tolerances, and subjects athletes to more specific levels of training effectiveness. As a result, training adaptations are more significant, providing genuinely exponential improvements in exercise and sports performance on the all important functional levels. Results which participating athletes are guaranteed to have not yet experienced using traditional methods. Yet, because of the diversity and multi-layered levels of progression and sub-progression, BODII is completely suitable and adaptable to all ages and fitness levels.
BODII directly contrasts the scenarios and viewpoints of accepted strength & fitness training. Those same, one dimensional and routine tasks, dependent solely on increases in weight to foster advancement, and performed time after time after time.
BODII is not a series of non-specific and unrelated tricks, as there is a purpose to every movement and consequential moment.
BODII bases its dominant philosophy on the fundamental premise, that any deliberately applied progression of instability will achieve maximal bio-mechanical and physiological advantage, by employing postures and positions of increasing exercise disadvantage.
Using core and posture specific structural & proprioceptive techniques, BODII methodically tackles the very real functional issues surrounding strength & stability in:
- shoulders/scapulae.
- the posterior chain.
- hips & pelvis.
- knees.
- ankles.
